Toner cartridges scandal hits councils

Recently, Corruption and Crime Commission reported that they found the WA state and local government officials paid too much for toner cartridges, up to $ 415,000, and involved receiving gifts from the company. State Parliament tabled a report, showing the public officers ordered the toner cartridges received gifts such as iPods and digital LCD TVs. The report also found that the Victoria-based company used "positive sales techniques" to pressure junior purchasing officers into buying large quantities of toner cartridges their organisations simply did not need.

Roger Watson, CCC director of corruption prevention, said in most cases, employees did not report the employers of their luxury gifts. Some agencies from the company to buy more toner than they can use. One agency estimated it had enough toner to last up to five years even though the cartridges have a shelf life of only about two years.

Toner cartridges purchase information has been submitted to the state and local government authorities to take appropriate action.

HP-Photosmart ink cartridges

HP-Photosmart ink printer series is truly smart. The newest version C4680 and C4680 has a sleek black look, top-notch speed of printing, fits almost any desk. The set up and installation is far improved from what it was just a few years ago.

Inkjet cartridges are actually the biggest problem with the HP printers. But the new C4680 uses both color and black ink cartridges with the same number. This is a new trend of HP-Photosmart ink cartridges, though every new machine requires a different cartridge and inkjet cartridges are actually the biggest problem with the HP printers ever for when you upgrade or replace a machine, all those spare cartridges become useless.

Dye based ink for printer

Dye based ink for printer consists of a completely dissolved colorant that is suspended in a liquid cartridge. As the dye is made up of single molecule which can make it lay much more flat on the surface of a sheet of paper, this makes the apperance more vivid and reflect light much more evenly. However, this type of printer ink is much easier to be damaged by UV light than a pigmented ink because of the structure of molecular.

Though dye based print ink is not compatible with the things like premium photo paper and t-shirt transfers, but it do tend to be better when it comes to how they look at a page and the overall compatibility ink inkjet paper. The most important, dye based inks are also much cheaper.

Cloud software can make printer easier to use

Some experts suggested that a new piece of cloud software can make it easier for printer ink users to connect their hardware with a computer network. The printers now are still complicated and difficult for many people to use with one of the technologies. Compare to the major barrier–networking, problems dealing with cables, toner and remembering to refillink cartridges as minor.

Mr. Johnson explains how to set up the printers as one of the last "black magics" of the IT industry, but if the growth of software like Google's Clod Print means that it has become more easier to hook up a number of different machines to the printer. They can just click on the Print button when use Cloud Print site and upload the documents or files they want to print.

As these are a major factor in running costs and ease of use, CTV News recently recommended that other aspects can also inform buys decisions on the purchase of efficient printer ink and toner cartridges.

How to calculate color toner and inkjet printers CPP

Since we have discussed the calculate method for the cost of monochrome inkjet and toner cartridgeprinting yesterday, let's talk about how to calculate the cost per page of color pages today.

A color printer typically uses several cartridges to print a color page. Therefore, you must calculate cost per page of each color ink cartridges to estimate the cost per color page, then combine that figure with the black and white cost per page to get the final cost per color page.

Let's make an example, if a cyan, magenta, and yellow color ink cartridges for an inkjet cartridge printer cost $10 each and last for about 500 pages each whereas a black ink cartridge costs $10 and has a page yield of 450 pages. Based on those figures, the final cost per color page calculation is equal to 8.2 cents per page (($10/500) + ($10/500) + ($10/500) + ($10/450) = $0.0822).

Please note that buying high capacity ink cartridge, the cost per page is typically lower than the regular capacity one due to its less frequent replacement.

Calculate the cost of monochrome printing

Calculate the cost per page, and then buy a printer, you can know if you can save money in the long run. Now let's calculate the cost per page of monochrome printing for example.

Dividing price of the black inkjet cartridges by the black cartridge's page yield, that is cost per black and white page. If the price of an inkjet cartridge is $ 20, its yield is 440 pages, then its cost per page is $ 0.045 ($20/440=4.5 cents per page).

If the high-yield black toner cartridge costs $ 90, and has a page yield 6000 pages, its cost per page will be $ 90 / 6,000 = $ 0.015 (1.5 cents per page).

Consider inkjet and toner cartridges before purchasing a printer

Select a printer not only have to consider the cost of the printer, but also the cost of replacement ink and toner cartridges. Over time, ink and paper costs may exceed the cost of the printer several times over.

When buying a printer, the cost per page is one of the most important factors to consider. Calculate cost per page helping to illustrate how much it is printing a page will cost. If you want to calculate the true cost per page for your printer, you should consider the following factors: the cost of ink and toner cartridges, paper, electrical power consumption, maintenance kits, and the costs of labor. However, the most simple cost per page analysis is you can consider from the ink and toner cartridge.

Although the printer prices are less than ever, ink and toner cartridges are still very expensive. In fact, most printer manufacturers generate their revenues from saling ink or toner cartridges rather than the sale of printer itself. Therefore, before purchasing a printer, you should yield cartridge prices divided by the cost of printing per pageyou should calculate the printing cost per page by dividing the ink cartridge price by the yield. Yield is the number of pages that can be printed with one particular inkjet cartridge or toner.

Inkjet cartridge printers are in general cheaper than toner cartridge printers, but inkjet cartridges need more frequent replacement, laser printers may be less costly in the long run. A typical inkjet printer ink cartridge replacement costs change between $ 10 to $ 40 and you can print less than 1000 pages. For laser printers, toner cartridges are priced higher than inkjet cartridges, but with a higher capacity, therefore, much lower the cost per page. Before replacing, a toner cartridge can print pages between 2500-10000.

Recycled ink and toner cartridge company

In 2002, when Jacob was a sophomore in college and younger brother Aaron was still in high school, the Lincoln Park brothers started their recycled ink and toner cartridge company. At that time, they are mainly sold recycled cartridges in a market that wasn't yet crowded with reusable options to higher-priced name-brand goods. In recent years, their focus shifted - collect and recycle the empty ink and toner cartridges and sell them to re-manufacturers to refill them. They continue to sell directly to consumers including schools, nonprofit organizations and small or medium-sized enterprises generic and name-brand ink cartridges.

Now their company earned bragging rights by making it onto Inc, came in at No. 40 in its industry nationally which is listed in 2011 magazine of 5,000 fastest-growing privately companies in the US, ranked 544. The publication ranked Cheap Ink as the 22nd fastest-growing privately held company in Chicago, citing a 617% increase in revenue over three years time. Cheap ink posted in 2010 to 2.2 million in revenue, up from  $ 301,000 in 2007. Fared well in the magazine's national listings.
