NHS Trust set up ink cartridge recycling scheme for children

An ink cartridge recycling program has been set up by the Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (NHS Trust) to raise money for Save the Children. The initiative was started on Monday, around the NHS Trust's headquarters boxes were set up and the charity will receive £1 for every ink cartridge recycling returned. Funds raised will be used to help vulnerable children in the UK and around the world, it will also reduce waste of the NHS Trust sent to the landfill sites.

Energy and environment officer Scott Darby at the NHS Trust said that they were not only recycle and reduce waste but also helped alleviate child poverty. The project has been led by staff and it's down to their enthusiasmthat they have taken in this part of the project. The South Gloucestershire residents have been told recently that it will be easier for them to recycle products such as ink and toner cartridges because the whole region of the three centers will serve as sort IT of part of the council!
