Brother-MFC 8460N is an all in one laser printer compatible with printing, scanning, copy and fax. TheseBrother toner cartridge printing machines can display a "Toner Life End" message, sometimes even when there is ink in the toner cartridge or when the ink cartridge is brand new. To clear these message can help you continue to print, when you see there is ink in the Brother toner cartridge.
Shake the cartridge
1 Remove the toner cartridge from the machine.
2 Gently shake the toner cartridges to distribute ink evenly throughout the cartridge. Sometimes this can fix the "Toner Life End" error according to Brother cartridges printers.
3 Replace the cartridge into the machine.
Clean the corona wire
1 Open the front cover of the machine.
2 Pull out the drum unit and toner cartridge assembly.
3 Slide the blue tab on the drum unit side to side several times to clean it. Be sure to click the tab back into its starting position when you are done or you may get black stripes on your prints.
4 Return the drum unit and toner cartridge assembly to the machine.
5 Close the front cover.
